There are two research Institute in Mumbai. “”Tata Institute of Fundamental Research“” (T.I.F.R.), and Tata Atomic Research Center (B.A.R.C.), B.A.R.C. began C.I.U.S. 40 Mega Watt heavy water reactor (HWR) at their esteemed location of Trombay. मुंबई में दो प्रधान अनुसंधान संस्थान भी हैं: टाटा इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ फंडामेंटल रिसर्च (टी.आई.एफ.आर) तथा भाभा आण्विक अनुसंधान केन्द्र (बी.ए.आर.सी). भाभा संस्थान ही सी आई आर यू एस ४० मेगावाट नाभिकीय भट्टी चलाता है जो उनके ट्रॉंबे स्थित संस्थान में स्थापित है।
